Sophie Scholl, geboren am 9.Mai 1921 in Forchtenberg und Hans Fritz Scholl, geboren am 22. September 1918 in Ingersheim an der Jagst. Sie gründeten im Juni 1942 in München eine Widerstandsgruppe namens Weisse Rose.
Mitte Februar 1943 wurde ein Flugblatt mit dem Aufruf verteilt, das Naziregime zu stürzen und ein neues geistiges Europa zu errichten. Die Geschwister Scholl wurden vom Blutrichter Roland Freisler am Volksgerichtshof zum Tode verurteilt. Die Urteilsbegründung lautete Wehrkraftzersetzung, Feindbegünstigung und Vorbereitung zum Hochverrat.
Das Urteil wurde am 22. Februar vom Henker Johann Reichhart durch das Fallbeil vollstreckt.
